Agile Space Industries has announced two senior leadership appointments designed to support the company's expansion in the commercial and national security space sectors. The Colorado-based propulsion specialist has appointed Jonathan Baliff to its Board of Directors and added Theo Squires as Director of Strategy & Corporate Development. The company announced these changes on 5 October 2026.

The moves reflect Agile's transition into a new growth phase, particularly following the company's recent selection for the SpaceWERX Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI) programme, which supports the company's development of complete propulsion subsystems.

Baliff Brings Aerospace and Capital Formation Expertise

Baliff's appointment to the board brings substantial experience across aerospace, finance, and corporate leadership. A former U.S. Air Force aviator and engineer, Baliff currently serves as an operating partner at Genesis Park, where he played a central role in the formation and financing of Redwire Corporation and later served as its chief financial officer.

His previous roles include president and CEO of Bristow Group and senior leadership positions at NRG Energy and Credit Suisse. According to Agile's announcement, his experience raising capital, guiding strategic investments, and leading organisations through periods of growth and transformation will support the company as it continues to scale.

"Agile has proven it has the technology and operational expertise to compete, win, and profitably grow in a rapidly evolving space market," said Jonathan Baliff. "Our customers and capital providers will partner with us as we scale Agile's technology, expand capacity, and efficiently deploy capital to support the company's growth."

"Agile has built significant momentum, and our next phase of growth requires the financial capability and oversight to match our technical expertise. Jonathan's experience in aerospace, capital formation and corporate transformation, combined with Theo's focus on strategy and corporate development, will help us evaluate new opportunities, make strategic investments and position Agile for sustainable, long-term growth," said Chris Pearson, CEO of Agile Space Industries.

Squires Appointed to Lead Strategy and Corporate Development

Theo Squires serves as Director of Strategy & Corporate Development at Agile. Prior to joining Agile, Squires served as an intelligence officer in the Royal Australian Navy, where his work included a bilateral space programme involving the United States and Australia. He has also worked at Boston Consulting Group, advising advanced manufacturing companies on strategy and operations.

At Agile, Squires' remit encompasses capital formation, strategic investments, and potential acquisitions of complementary technologies and capabilities to support the company's broader growth strategy.

"Scaling advanced propulsion hardware requires both technical innovation and a disciplined approach to capital investment," said Theo Squires. "Our focus is on building a financial foundation to support higher-rate production while identifying strategic opportunities that complement Agile's existing capabilities. We see significant potential to expand what we can offer customers as the space propulsion market continues to evolve."

Board Changes and Agile's Market Position

As part of the board's evolution, Tom Rubin is departing Agile's Board of Directors and will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity. During his board service, Rubin contributed valuable legal expertise and counsel as Agile navigated a period of significant growth.

Agile Space Industries develops advanced chemical propulsion solutions for spacecraft manoeuvre and orbital operations. The company brings together propulsion expertise, additive manufacturing, and in-house testing capabilities to support early-stage concepts through to high-rate production of flight hardware. It partners with leading aerospace companies and the U.S. Government on spacecraft and launch vehicle programmes.
