Flexell Space Establishes French Subsidiary for European Customers
Flexell Space, a space solar solution company, has announced the establishment of its French entity, FLEXELL SPACE FRANCE SAS, in Paris to strengthen support for ongoing contract and volume-production discussions with European customers. The company is currently in talks with multiple European customers regarding collaboration agreements and volume supply of space solar cells and power solutions.
Through its local presence, Flexell Space aims to accelerate customer communication and strengthen its ability to support business activities ranging from technical reviews to negotiations on supply terms. The company plans to deepen engagement with customers and partners across Europe, including France, Germany, Italy, and Lithuania.
Why a Local European Presence Matters for Space Solar Technology
Space solar cells require close coordination on performance, dimensions, reliability, and delivery schedules, depending on each customer's spacecraft design and operating environment. Beyond initial product introductions, discussions involve technical documentation reviews, sample evaluations, environmental test results, and design adjustments. Progressing toward volume supply also requires alignment on production schedules and quality management processes.
According to Flexell Space, as discussions with European customers move toward contracts and volume production, a local presence has become increasingly important for responding promptly to customer needs. The French entity will serve as a link between European customers and the company's R&D and manufacturing teams in Korea.
By gaining a closer understanding of each customer's development schedule and technical requirements, the new subsidiary aims to facilitate timely decisions and follow-up actions throughout the collaboration process.
Next-Generation Space Solar Cells and Production Readiness
Flexell Space develops next-generation tandem solar cells and related power solutions for space applications. Its tandem architecture combines solar cells with different characteristics to deliver the performance, low weight, and cost competitiveness required for space missions.
The company is expanding beyond solar cell development into modules and arrays tailored to customer missions and satellite platforms. Its preparations for commercialization and volume production address not only product performance, but also reliability in the space environment, manufacturing process repeatability, quality management, and supply stability.
With the establishment of its French entity, Flexell Space plans to incorporate feedback from European technical discussions into product development and supply planning more quickly. It will strengthen coordination between its Korean R&D teams and European customers by communicating required specifications and evaluation criteria, while sharing development progress and validation results.
Building Long-Term European Partnerships
Flexell Space plans to operate its French entity as a hub for developing long-term relationships with European customers. Alongside supporting existing customer projects, it will explore new product applications and joint development opportunities with local space companies and research institutions.
Keo-san Lee, CFO of Flexell Space, commented on the expansion: "We are currently discussing contracts and volume supply with multiple European customers. As these discussions progress, being closer to our customers has become increasingly important in turning them into tangible results. Our French entity will help accelerate technical discussions and business execution, while enabling us to respond more closely to our customers' development and production schedules."
Lee added: "In the space industry, technical capability must be accompanied by confidence in a supplier's ability to deliver products reliably. By connecting our R&D and manufacturing capabilities in Korea with local customer support in Europe, we aim to build stronger, longer-term partnerships."
The company will continue discussions on supply scope, development schedules, production volumes, and delivery timelines to translate ongoing negotiations into concrete business outcomes. As satellite missions and platforms become more diverse, space power solutions increasingly require development and supply arrangements tailored to specific operating conditions.
